Kevin Thomas Gilroy brings over three-decades of global experience with the United Nations where he served as an international civil servant in a range of positions in the field and headquarters, retiring at the diplomatic level. His work took him to over 80 countries across the globe, largely working with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and UNDP’s UN Volunteers Program.
The thrust of his career was working with the UN Department of Peacekeeping, and the family of UN humanitarian agencies such as the UNHCR, OCHA and others, where he managed large operations including historic sovereign nation making operations in Liberia, Cambodia, South Africa, and East Timor to name a few. This career track was defined early through an incredible life changing Peace Corps Volunteer assignment in Liberia in 1983, which led to his joining the UN.
During this fascinating career, Kevin worked in dozens of diverse and challenging environments at the highest levels of managerial, policy and program operations, including senior leadership and UN Representational responsibilities largely in crisis/post-crisis situations.
Kevin's immense global development and diplomatic expertise will aid and anchor many of OLP's development services and initiatives abroad.
